February's production at the Warehouse will be Michael Frayn's Alarms and Excursions, a collection of 8 small plays originally written for 4 performers. Whilst staging the plays with just 4 people would certainly present an enjoyable challenge, we have decided to use a larger cast of 9 in order to speed up the process of directing the plays and to reduce the number of lines each individual has to learn in a short timeframe.
Frayn is a versatile writer, with several serious novels and plays to his name (Spies, Copenhagen, Democracy), but he is perhaps best known in theatre-
As a collection these plays are challenging for the performers and crew, yet promise to be a riot for the audience. We have a very strong cast with a few faces new to the Ilminster stage -
