14th - 17th December 2011
This production for the whole family has been devised, written and directed by Philip Wells and the musical director Elizabeth Hayley. Christmas at the Warehouse Theatre this year will see Samuel Paull, the original owner of the Ilminster Brewery (now the Warehouse Theatre) return with the ghosts of Ilminster 1845. Charles Dickens “a Christmas Carol” has recently been written and Christmas has been reinvented.
The Victorian Ilminsterians, using the style of Dickens will take you on a journey in song and written word through Christmas past, Christmas present and Christmas yet to come. his will see us meet people such as the Vikings celebrating the Winter solstice, Soldiers, and monarchs giving you insight into their lives at Christmas.
You will experience the end of Christmas by both Oliver Cromwell and the Grinch. We will even step back into our own childhoods and join John, Peter and Val to make a wonderful advent crown just ready for December the 25th. If you have ever wondered why we have particular traditions at Christmas and have been looking for an evening to get you and you family in the festive mood then join these ghosts from the past for a glass of mulled wine and a mince pie this Christmas at the Warehouse theatre.
